Gemmo AI is a boutique AI firm based in Dublin Docklands. The company’s website tagline points the work directly at financial services: “Safe and Effective AI Agents for Financial Services.” In December 2025, the site relaunched around this positioning.
Founding and Founder
Gemmo AI was founded in 2014 by Dr. Luca Marchesotti. Marchesotti has 25 years of AI experience across academia, corporate R&D, and entrepreneurship. He was previously a Senior Research Scientist at Xerox Research Labs; per Silicon Republic’s reporting, his work there is associated with 38 patent applications.
The most clearly verifiable signal: Marchesotti is a member of Ireland’s AI Advisory Council. The Council was established in January 2024 under the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment (DETE), and its membership was updated in November 2024. The full list of members is published on the official DETE site, where Marchesotti is named alongside academics, legal scholars, industry leaders, and civil society representatives, 14 members in total. The Council exists to provide independent expert advice to government on AI policy. The connection between product and policy in Dublin runs through positions like this.
The company’s HQ is at 77 John Rogerson’s Quay, Dublin. An AI Lab operates from Milan (Via Gianfranco Zuretti, 34).
On the Public Record: Award, Funding, Product
In November 2023, Gemmo.ai won the “Best Application of AI in Sustainability” category at the AI Awards Ireland for an AI sound API that addresses Dublin’s noise pollution problem. The awards are organised by AI Ireland and sponsored by Microsoft (RTE, 21 November 2023). The company has been backed at earlier stages by Enterprise Ireland and EU Horizon 2020 research grants.
The current product is structured in three modules: AI Pathfinder (use case discovery and roadmap), AI Implementation (pre-built AI agents), and AI Optimization (continuous monitoring and model updates). An AI Monitoring Hub layer supports the platform. On the company’s own site, Gemmo states 50 AI systems deployed, 20 pre-built agents in the catalog, and an average +77% performance lift in client deployments.
The “trusted by” panel on the homepage carries logos for BBVA, Broadridge, Mediolanum, Fexco, and Ardmac. A public testimonial appears from Fexco’s Chief Commercial Officer, Cathal Foley.
For Dublin’s AI ecosystem, Gemmo is a clear instance of how product work and policy work intersect inside a single small Dublin company.
