2026 AI Awards Applications Close on 31 August

Are you developing artificial intelligence, implementing an AI solution or using AI to deliver measurable results in Ireland?
The deadline for the 2026 AI Awards is approaching.
Since its launch in 2018, the AI Awards has highlighted individuals, teams, companies and academic work across Ireland’s AI ecosystem. Applications for the eighth annual awards close at 10pm on Monday, 31 August 2026.
Who can enter the 2026 AI Awards?
The awards are open to companies with a presence on the island of Ireland, individuals working in Ireland and Irish people working abroad.
International teams may also apply if their project or team has a demonstrable connection to Ireland. International companies should check the specific eligibility requirements for their chosen category before applying.
Entering the AI Awards is free, and applicants may enter more than one category. However, shortlisted applicants will need to purchase a ticket if they wish to attend the awards ceremony on 17 November.
What are the 2026 AI Awards categories?
This year, there are 16 categories across leadership, industry and academia.
The categories recognise work by startups, SMEs and large organisations in areas including responsible AI, healthcare, cybersecurity and sustainability.
A new category, Agentic AI Innovation of the Year, has also been introduced for 2026. It recognises AI agents and autonomous systems that improve business operations, decision-making or measurable outcomes.

How can you prepare a strong application?
According to the organisers’ assessment criteria, a strong application should clearly explain:
- What problem is being solved?
- Which AI technologies are being used?
- What measurable impact or results has the solution produced?
- What makes the work innovative?
- What evidence or data supports the claims?
The application form must be completed in one session. Applicants should prepare their answers in advance and avoid including confidential or sensitive information.
When will the 2026 AI Awards take place?
The 2026 AI Awards ceremony will take place on Tuesday, 17 November 2026, at the Radisson Blu Royal Hotel Dublin.
