DESCRIPTION:AIM Centre has opened registrations for the TechIreland National AI Challenge 2026\, returning as an official hub partner for this year’s national programme. \n\n\n\nThe challenge is designed for a wide mix of participants across Ireland. You do not need to be an AI expert to take part. According to the organisers\, participants can join with an idea and be paired with technical team members\, or join with technical skills and help bring someone else’s idea to life. \n\n\n\nThat is part of what makes the National AI Challenge 2026 stand out. \n\n\n\nThe programme brings together developers\, innovators\, founders and AI enthusiasts to work on real-world challenges over a two-week remote build period. Teams then present their projects at local demo days\, with finalists progressing to the TechIreland National AI Meet 2026 in Galway. \n\n\n\nThis year’s theme is AI & Agents: Strategy\, Processes and Roles. \n\n\n\nFor the AIM Centre community\, the key dates are: \n\n\n\n\nRegistrations Open: 20 July 2026\n\n\n\nKickoff Webinar: 12 August 2026\n\n\n\nChallenge Begins: 28 August 2026\n\n\n\nDemo Day: 14 September 2026 at AIM Centre\n\n\n\nTechIreland National AI Meet 2026: 24 September 2026 in Galway\n\n\n\n\nThe wider programme is coordinated by TechIreland in partnership with Enterprise Ireland and the European Digital Innovation Hubs Network\, and is supported by innovation hubs and ecosystem partners across the country. \n\n\n\nAt AI Dubliners\, we see this as an important ecosystem signal. \n\n\n\nBecause some of the most interesting AI ideas do not begin inside large companies. SUMMARY:Dublin AI Week 2026: Bringing Dublin’s AI Communities Together
DESCRIPTION:Through AI Dubliners\, I regularly follow events\, meetups and hackathons across Dublin. And I keep noticing the same thing: the city already has a strong community of people building with artificial intelligence. \n\n\n\nBut that energy is often spread across different events\, spaces and communities. \n\n\n\nThe first Dublin AI Week aims to bring those parts together. \n\n\n\nWhat is Dublin AI Week?\n\n\n\nDublin AI Week is a community-led programme taking place across Dublin from 2 to 9 October 2026. \n\n\n\nPresented by Give(a)Go and Baseline Community + Fund\, the week will feature events hosted independently by different communities across the city. \n\n\n\nThere will be no single main stage or central conference venue. Instead\, organisers are planning 35+ free events\, including: \n\n\n\n\nHackathons and build challenges\n\n\n\nTechnical workshops and product demonstrations\n\n\n\nTalks and research paper discussions\n\n\n\nCapture the Flag cybersecurity challenges\n\n\n\nRobot-building sessions\n\n\n\nCommunity meetups\n\n\n\n\nSome events will be designed for experienced engineers and researchers. Others will welcome people using AI tools for the first time. \n\n\n\nWhy does Dublin AI Week matter?\n\n\n\nFrom what I have seen\, Dublin does not lack AI talent or community activity. The bigger opportunity is to connect that existing energy and make it more visible. \n\n\n\nThe decentralised format means people can do more than listen to presentations. They can build products\, share ideas\, meet potential collaborators and perhaps take the first step towards a new team or company. \n\n\n\nAs the organisers explain in their manifesto\, the aim is to help Dublin’s builders find each other\, share what they know and start creating together. \n\n\n\nWhat happens alongside and after Dublin AI Week?\n\n\n\nFrom 7 to 9 October\, Baseline and Frontline Ventures will host Rebase in the City. The invitation-only event aims to bring together approximately 300 founders and investors from Europe and the US. \n\n\n\nOn 14 October\, Ireland will host the International AI Summit as part of its Presidency of the Council of the European Union. The summit is a separate\, invitation-only event. \n\n\n\nTogether\, these events highlight three different layers of Dublin’s AI ecosystem: open community activity\, founder and investor connections\, and international business and policy. \n\n\n\nThrough AI Dubliners\, I will continue following the programme\, the communities taking part and the projects that emerge. \n\n\n\nThe question is no longer whether Dublin has an AI community. \n\n\n\nWhat could happen when that community becomes part of the same citywide story?
