When AI Stops Being a Tool and Starts Becoming a Risk Conversation

I know we’re all busy.
Working, trying to earn, trying to build a future.
In many ways, it’s the same cycle humanity has always been in.

But in the middle of all this, how often do we stop and ask:
What is actually happening?

A few days ago, I gave myself a short break.
To watch things I’ve been meaning to watch, to read, and to think. Also for AI Dubliners.

I watched a video I had been curious about for a while, and honestly, it made me think. So I wanted to share it with you. I’ll leave the link in the comments.

We talk about AI every day.
New business models, new startups, new products…

At AI Dubliners, I follow these companies closely and share them with real excitement.

But in all this momentum, it’s not easy to pause and ask:
Where is this actually going?

In this video, Roman Yampolskiy presents a much more critical perspective.

He argues that AI is not only transforming work,
but could potentially move beyond human control.

Some of the topics he touches on:
How AI systems could become dangerous
The large-scale automation of jobs
The control problem of superintelligence
The possibility that AI could become more dangerous than nuclear weapons

You may agree or disagree with these views.

But I think the important point is this:
👉 AI is not just a productivity tool
👉 It is also a serious system-level risk conversation

At AI Dubliners, we often focus on how AI creates real-world value and solves real problems.

But maybe, from time to time, we also need to ask:
👉 How far should this technology go?
👉 And are we actually ready for it?
